I just cannot understand why "Helicopter" Ben (or his predecessor "easy Money' Alan) did not see it fit to intervene when home prices were going north and is making noises when it is going down. Home prices had risen to high levels because of easy money. There were two kinds of people --- one who were not prudent and took on liabilities beyond their ability, foolishly abetted by 'Easy Money' Alan and 'Helicopter' Ben and another set of people who were prudent who lived within their means.
So now when prices are falling it is definitely possible that the prudent set may well buy homes that they once thought was beyond their means. This will happen at some point.
Why is 'Helicopter' Ben not interested in allowing market forces to operate and find its price levels and is so intent on screwing it all up by providing sops and props and thereby the prices at elevated levels. Why the hell he can't understand enough to leave things alone! If he were so concerned about prices then he should have been concerned when it was going north. North ... let it go .... South. .. Here I come --- This is "Helicopter' Ben for you!!
